Commitment by SpeedCast Ltd. of Hong Kong continues the expansion of its Global Maritime Network in the Middle East, African, and South American markets

HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SpeedCast, a leading satellite telecommunications service provider, today announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with SES WORLD SKIES, a division of SES S.A. (Paris:SESG)(LuxX:SESG), for additional capacity on SES’ NSS-6, NSS-7, and NSS-12 satellites to serve the growing demand of its maritime customers in the Middle East, African, and South American regions, including offshore Brazil.

SpeedCast has expanded its capacity on the NSS-6 South East Asia beam and acquired new capacity on the NSS-6 Middle East, NSS-7 South American, and NSS-12 East Africa beams as part of its global maritime network expansion plans. The company addresses the surging demand from SpeedCast’s maritime customers with a total of more than 35 MHz of SES capacity, and this new agreement marks the continuation of SpeedCast’s expansion.

“Expansion of high quality service into the Middle East, African, and South American markets is critical for meeting the current and future needs of our customers. We are also adding capacity to several of our existing beams, as the number of customers and their bandwidth demands are growing very fast on our maritime network. The coverage and capabilities of SES are making it possible for SpeedCast to successfully continue to expand our Global Maritime Network. These additional orders signify our commitment to our customers to support them wherever they operate and grow our network as their demands grow” said Pierre-Jean Beylier, CEO of SpeedCast.

“SES WORLD SKIES has a long-term relationship with SpeedCast in Asia, supporting their managed network service offerings across the region” said Elias Zaccack, Vice President Sales Asia-Pacific at SES WORLD SKIES. “It is very gratifying to help a customer in Asia continue their expansion into another part of the globe by utilizing the SES fleet.”

SpeedCast has successfully expanded its operations, supporting its customers’ expansion into new markets. SpeedCast will continue to execute on its global expansion plans, investing in key markets and geographies, in order to provide the highest level of service and support for its customers wherever they are throughout the world.
