Subramaniam to manage Bloomberg Television's partnership with BloombergUTV

LONDON, NEW YORK & MUMBAI, India--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bloomberg Television, the 24-hour global business news network, announced today that Harsha Subramaniam has joined the network as executive producer, based in Mumbai. Subramaniam will be responsible for managing the partnership between Bloomberg Television and UTV, in addition to overseeing the growth and development of BloombergUTV's programming, content and operations. The co-branded business news network BloombergUTV, which launched in October 2009, is among the highest-rated business channels in India and is currently available in 40 million homes in major urban markets across the country.

Subramaniam joins Bloomberg Television from CNBC-TV18 in India, where he had most recently served as News Editor and senior anchor. He also created and developed primetime programming, forged editorial partnerships and served as the host of the weekday evening show "India Business Hour." Earlier in his career, Subramaniam was a reporter for The Hindu Business Line and Star News. Parameshwaran Ravindranathan, who had served as Bloomberg's executive producer for BloombergUTV, will re-locate to Bloomberg Television's newly expanded Hong Kong bureau in a senior management role.

"We're pleased to welcome Harsha to Bloomberg Television," said Brian Martinez, International Managing Director, Bloomberg Television. "Harsha's expertise will be invaluable as we seek to utilize Bloomberg's worldwide resources and newsgathering capabilities to deliver the most relevant, high-quality information to Indian investors and influential business decision-makers."

"I'm looking forward to bringing innovative new ideas to BloombergUTV and leveraging the global power of Bloomberg Television to Indian viewers," said Harsha. "In the coming year, I'll be working closely with the team at BloombergUTV to deliver a host of new and exciting programs to target business leaders in the region."
