The Australian Chambers of Commerce in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and Macau are calling for Australian companies excelling in China to nominate for the AustCham Westpac Australia-China Business Awards 2010.

AustCham Shanghai Executive Director, Ms Kim Gilliland said: "These Awards are an extension of the Chambers' long-term commitment to supporting and promoting excellence in Australia-China business. They recognise and celebrate the enormous diversity and strength of Australian businesses delivering products or services to Greater China."

The Awards are highly contested and attract an extremely high calibre of nominees from companies based in Greater China and Australia. Previous winners have included major corporates such as ANZ, CSL Limited and Macquarie Group, and smaller businesses including URBN Hotels & Resorts, David Laris Creates and Galaxy Resources.

There are seven Awards categories:

Business Excellence (> 100 employees)

Business Excellence (< 100 employees)

Business Entrepreneurial (< 50 employees)

Business Innovation

Business Promotion

Sustainable Development

People's Choice Award

Chairman of the Awards Judging Committee, Austrade Senior Trade Commissioner, Mr Christopher Wright said: "The Australia-China Business Awards have grown in stature over the past 17 years to be recognised as a high profile celebration of Australian business success across Greater China and Australia."

Winners of the Awards will be announced at a black-tie Awards dinner in Shanghai on 11 November.
