Iain Reid and Brendan Warn to Join as Senior Research Analysts Covering Oil and Gas

LONDON & NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In a further expansion of the firm’s global Equity Research group, Jefferies announced today the hiring of Iain Reid and Brendan Warn as Senior Equity Research Analysts in London, covering oil and gas companies. Messrs. Reid and Warn will join the firm in October and August, respectively.

The addition of Messrs. Reid and Warn will extend Jefferies’ coverage of the Energy sector, which, not including alternative energy research, now consists of seven analysts covering 130 companies. These include Paul Fremont (Electric Utilities), Debra E. Bromberg (Electric Utilities), Subash Chandra, CFA (Exploration & Production), Biju Z. Perincheril (Exploration & Production), Douglas Mavrinac (Maritime & Logistics), Judson E. Bailey, CFA (Offshore & Onshore Drilling) and Stephen D. Gengaro (Oil Services).

Jefferies’ research analysts consistently rank among the top industry professionals, capturing 31 analyst awards year-to-date in 2010, including honors from The Wall Street Journal “Best on the Street” Analyst Survey, Institutional Investor, Forbes.com / Zacks Investment Research and Financial Times / StarMine. Mr. Reid brings to Jefferies more than 30 years of industry experience and joins the firm from Macquarie Capital, where he was a Senior Equity Research Analyst for European Oil & Gas Research. Previously, he spent seven years in equity research at UBS, where he covered Oil and Energy companies. Prior to that, he covered Oil & Gas companies at Natwest Markets and SG Warburg Companies, and also spent 17 years at Amerada Hess and Shell as an engineer, economist and corporate planning executive. Mr. Reid received an MBA from Cranfield Business School and a BSc from Bristol University in Mechanical Engineering. He is a Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Mr. Warn brings to Jefferies more than 18 years of industry experience and joins the firm from Macquarie Capital, where he was a Senior Equity Research Analyst covering European Oil & Gas companies. Previously, he was an Associate Director at Evans & Peck, a management consulting firm focused on the construction, energy, mining and infrastructure industries. Prior to that, he was an Engineer and Project Manager at BHP Billiton. Mr. Warn received a BEng from University of South Australia, a Master of Commerce from The University of New South Wales, and an MBA from University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney.
