Quattro-Pole Motor Sets New Standard for Power Density & Energy Efficiency

HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Johnson Electric today announced the Quattro-Pole™ product line based on patented universal motor technology that sets a new standard for energy efficiency, power density and eco performance.

The Quattro-Pole technology is a universal motor platform with a unique configuration of four magnetic poles and two coils. Quattro-Pole technology delivers more power in a smaller package than conventional universal motors. The unique magnetic flux path design reduces reluctance and therefore increases efficiency. The Quattro-Pole product line will be deployed to address multiple industry segments, including kitchen appliances and power equipment.

For kitchen blenders and food processors, the Quattro-Pole motors can deliver 30 percent higher torque at low speeds or 30 percent higher speed with more power for a wide range of food preparation options. The overall motor performance enables manufacturers to create more efficient kitchen appliances. For outdoor power equipment such as electric leaf blowers, the Quattro-Pole motor can generate 20 percent higher air power, in a 20 percent lower weight package. The overall motor performance enables faster leaf clean-up and more efficient mulching.

“The Quattro-Pole product line is an important industry milestone in universal motor technology, which hasn’t witnessed any significant innovation in decades,” said Jim Dick, Johnson Electric’s senior vice president of Strategic Marketing. “This product development reflects our strategy to provide differentiation to our customers through motion technology leadership,” he added.
