Global Hunter Securities (GHS) today announced that Yang Lan, one of China's most prominent media figures, will appear at the company's inaugural GHS China Conference, July 11-13, 2010, at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco.
Lan, often referred to as "China's Oprah Winfrey" due to her popularity and entrepreneurial ventures, will be one of GHS' guests of honor at the two-day conference, where up to 100 China-based companies whose shares trade on U.S. exchanges are expected to make presentations to institutional investors.

Lan, who will address conference participants during the July 12 luncheon, rose to prominence in the early 1990s as host of the "Zheng Da Variety Show," which became the most-watched television show in China with a weekly audience of 200 million. Lan has been credited with empowering women throughout China through her enormously popular show, "Her Village."
Co-founder of Sun Media Group, a leading privately owned media company in China, Lan also is a prominent philanthropist, focusing on projects to improve education and promote the arts for underprivileged children. She was instrumental in a campaign to fund orphans and disabled children following the devastating Sichuan province earthquake in 2008.
