Donation Will Help Treat Haiti's Injured

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Deeply-touched by the earthquake tragedy unleashed upon the people of Haiti, Investors Trust Assurance SPC ("Investors Trust") is helping affected families by donating HTG $390,000 to support the crisis relief programs of aid organization Partners in Health. The donation will be used to leverage the skills of more than 120 doctors and nearly 500 nurses to treat the wounded and ill throughout Haiti.

"Seeing homes and families destroyed by this natural disaster was extremely painful to us since our constant goal is to help our customers around the world plan for a comfortable retirement and provide sufficient safeguards for their children," Investors Trust CEO William Zelaya explained. "Without a home, or even basic supplies, it would be hard to imagine how these families could think of a bright future, so we decided to make our contribution the moment we saw the heartbreaking scenes."

Investors Trust supported the relief efforts of Partners in Health by adding the - HTG $390,000 donation to its fund. Partners in Health and its partner organization Zanmi Lasante have worked in Haiti for nearly twenty-five years, and today is one of the largest non-governmental health care providers in the country.

"We chose Partners in Health for the donation because we feel that it shares a similar ideology as Investors Trust, in that through service, training, advocacy, and research, they seek to raise the standard of care for the poor everywhere," Zelaya explained. "We hope these families will soon be able to rebuild both their lives and their spirits."

Recently, Investors Trust supported the crisis relief programs of the World Vision Organization by adding the NT$1,000,000 donation to the fund for the affected areas in Taiwan for Typhoon Morakat. World Vision Organization has worked tirelessly to provide food and shelter for victims of that natural disaster and has also collected school supplies and books for children in Taiwan.

About Partners In Health

PIH was founded in 1987, two years after the Clinique Bon Sauveur was set up in Cange, Haiti, to deliver health care to the residents of the mountainous Central Plateau. PIH co-founders had been working in the area for years. The Clinic was just the first of an arc of successful projects designed to address the health care needs of the residents of the poorest area in Haiti. In the 20 years since then, PIH has expanded its operations to eight other sites in Haiti and nine additional countries and has launched a number of other initiatives.
