Hot Air Balloon Cairns enable Chinese visitors to see the 2012 Eclipse from balloons flying over Queensland Australia, November 14 2012

CAIRNS, Australia--(BUSINESS WIRE)- HOT AIR BALLOON CAIRNS, a global leader in the ballooning industry announced a live webcast at http://www.hot-air.cn/ of the 2012 total solar eclipse with lucky Chinese visitors on-board the balloons, that will be part of a fleet of 10 balloons on November 14th, 2012.

The Queensland Government will be filming the Total Solar Eclipse and Hot Air Balloon Cairns as the popularity of ballooning for chinese visitors to Queensland, is in the top two tourism experiences, second to the Great Barrier Reef.

Local business, Hot Air Balloon Cairns' daily flight path just happens on November 14th 2012, to be one of the prime viewing spots for visitors and  umbraphiles (eclipse chasers), as per predictions by Fred Espenak of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre.Hot Air Balloon Cairns Managing Director, Andrew Steel said it's expected the balloons will fly to a height of 1000 to 3000' above ground level, (plus 900 feet above sea level).

The eclipse casts a shadow that moves across the Earth's surface in what is called the Path of Totality with the fleet of hot air balloons in the Path. It's anticipated that the spectacle of the Australian themed hot air balloons; the Koala, Kangaroo and Aussie balloons in particular will give off a glow, lighting up like giant lanterns over the Australian landscape, will be quite remarkable.

Over 10,000 chinese visitors have experienced the daily hot air balloon rides in Cairns so far in 2012. A popular Australian holiday itinerary for visitors from China is a Great Barrier Reef tour, a rainforest tour to see wildlife and a hot air balloon ride to see kangaroos in the wild and the wide open Australian outback.

"Hot Air Balloon Cairns has been travelling to China for many years, to work with Chinese travel agents and we are delighted to see the new airlines direct from China to Cairns" said Andrew Steel.

On-board will be visitors from all over Australia and 20 countries, with a team of filmmakers and photographers that will capture the event live to http://www.hot-air.cn/.The balloons will launch at Mareeba, about 40 km inland from the Australian coast line giving the balloon passengers the highest chance of an unobstructed view of the Eclipse.
