Orange Joins the NFC Patent Licensing Program Directed by France Brevets

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--France Brevets is very pleased to announce Orange as a strategic licensor for the NFC Patent Licensing Program launched in June 21st with Inside Secure. The operator has been a long–standing leader in the development and now the adoption of NFC technology, and, through their impressive research capabilities, filed many patents. Within the NFC Patent Licensing program, such patents will become available at reasonable and non-discriminatory conditions.

About the NFC Patent Licensing Program

France Brevets manage and lead all the efforts under the NFC licensing program, which is open to all holders of relevant patents. France Brevets will give device manufacturers access to the INSIDE Secure, a pioneer and leader in semiconductor solutions for secure transactions and digital identity, and Orange NFC patents, which include both essential and implementation-specific approaches for NFC. The licensing program will address multiple categories of NFC device manufacturers, such as those making smartphones, feature phones, tablets, laptops, desktop computers, TVs, and smart meters which will offer a wide range of services such as mobile payment, transit, access control, retention programme and also ticket office.
