7th China Advanced Coal Chemical Summit 2011

URUMQI, XINJIANG, CHINA, 20-21 OCTOBER 2011 - China is a great coal chemical producing country and coal occupies nearly 70% of China's energy consumption. After the remarkable success of the 6th China Advanced Coal Chemical Summit 2010, Noppen hosted the  7th China Advanced Coal Chemical Summit 2011 in Urumqi, Xinjiang. The location was particularly fitting as in recent years the coal industry within Xinjiang has developed rapidly.

The conference took place in Yin Du Hotel Urumqi, Xinjiang with over 100 attendees, which included energy authorities, senior directors and technicians from China's coal groups, power groups and clean coal project developers. They were particularly interested in discussing China's newest industrial policies, advanced technology solutions for the growth of their plants, coal deep processing and large coal chemical complete equipment. There were a number of excellent speakers present at the summit. Day one began with Liang Shipu, General Manager, CTL dept. from Shenhua Group. He talked about the status of present projects of the Shenhua Group and trends occurring within the industry. Following him was Li Junfa, Chief Engineer of China National Petroleum & Chemical Planning Institute who analyzed the competitiveness and development mode of the coal chemical industry.  Post lunch, the Chairman of the two day conference, Yan Leping, Deputy Chief Engineer of Shanghai Huayi Group gave the delegates insightful information on the value chain of the coal chemical industry and spoke about the best practices of the Shanghai Huayi Group. The delegates found that he did an excellent job of chairing the conference. Other notable speakers on Day One of the conference included Mr. An Fu, Deputy Chief Engineer from Economics & Development Research Institute, SINOPEC. He spoke about the Xinjiang coal processing product choice and went on to evaluate the 'Revamping of Coal Substitution for Oil Project', 'Refining-Chemical Integration Project', 'PTA' and 'PX'. Furthermore, Mr. Xiong Zhijian, Director from Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, discussed the technology development status and economics research of China's advanced coal chemical industries. His speech was divided into three parts: background analysis, CTL technology introduction and SNG technology. Day Two also had a number of influential speakers. The day started with a speech from  Mr. Fang Dewei, Chief Engineer from National Chemical Industry Productivity Promotion Center. He has over thirty years experience in the coal chemical industry and therefore he spoke extremely eloquently and knowledgeably on methanol chemical energy's innovative development strategy.

The delegates listened to him enthusiastically and were impressed with his expertise. Another great speaker at the event was Yim Jinsu, Director of Asia Olefin from CMAI GLOBAL, who spoke about the outlook of Asian Olefin Market. As his job focuses on olefins and the analysis of the ethylene, propylene and derivatives markets in Asia, he talked about the demand, capacities, shale gas and market of olefin in Asia. The conference also provided a platform for industry leaders to introduce new products and services. Jiang Tao, General Manager of Gasification Licensing Department from Shell (China) Limited made a presentation on Shell's coal gasification technology in China. He introduced new technologies like opposite multiple coal burners, unique design of membrane wall, etc. He also introduced new services of Shell like the technical support from Beijing service centre and annual global user meeting.  Tyco Flow Control and Feluwa Pumpen(China) Co. Ltd both set up booths at the conference to showcase their newest products. Liu Chunyang, Sales Director of Tyco Flow Control brought their newest products. Anderson Greenwood, AVID and Bellucci. Qiang Zhiyong, Office Director from Feluwa Pumpen(China) Co. Ltd showcased their newest product, the Feluwa Pumpen GmbH.

Furthermore, DrM Shanghai sent their technical director Ben Zhou to introduce their latest technical breakthrough. "Analysed the future trend of coal-chemical market from the technological aspect." PCME
