Cooking Seminars with Ingredients Grown in Japan to Be Conducted in Vietnam and Malaysia

TOKYO--()--The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan will be holding Japanese Cooking Seminars for people in food business industry in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

May 4th (Wednesday) and May 5th 2016 (Thursday) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
May 18th (Wednesday) and May 19th (Thursday) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Famous Japanese restaurant, [Nihonbashi Yukari]'s 3rd Generation Chef Mr. Kimio Nonaga will be conducting Japanese Cooking Seminars to introduce basic knowledge about Japanese cuisine while expressing the Japanese tradition of “Hospitality(=OMOTENASHI)”. There will be also cooking demonstrations by using ingredients grown in Japan such as yellowtail, scallops or wagyu. As local people partake in actually cooking and the tasting experience, they will be touched by attractiveness of ingredients grown in Japan.

[Nihonbashi Yukari]'s 3rd Generation Chef Mr. Kimio Nonaga

Born in 1972. After graduating from Hattori Nutrition College, he trained at Japanese restaurant, “Roan Kikunoi” under grand chef, Yoshihiro Murata. In 1997, he returned back home to [Nihonbashi Yukari]. In 2002, on a TV show called “Iron Chef Japan – Cup ‘02” he took the overall victory. In 2003, he was chosen as one of the top 5 young chefs in Japan by the New York Times. In 2008, he performed Japanese food lectures and demonstrations in Chicago, Detroit, and Boston. In 2009, joined the PR event of the Japanese agriculture, forestry fishery products, and other foods at the Culinary Institute of America in California.
