Simpson Thacher Expands Litigation Practice in Asia

NEW YORK & HONG KONG--()--Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP announced today that Adam Goldberg has joined the Firm as Counsel in the Litigation Department, resident in the Hong Kong office. Mr. Goldberg, who is fluent in Mandarin, advises clients throughout Asia in a wide variety of disputes and investigations, including internal and government investigations and securities litigation. Mr. Goldberg also has substantial experience in complex business and intellectual property disputes, including international arbitration. In addition, he regularly assists multinational corporations in regulatory risk assessments, designing and implementing effective anti-corruption and anti-money-laundering compliance programs, pre-transaction due diligence and Chinese-language employee training.

“Our Asia Litigation Practice has an established record of helping our clients address the unique litigation, arbitration and regulatory challenges faced by entities doing business in Asia,” said Paul Curnin, Co-Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Department.

Prior to joining Simpson Thacher, Mr. Goldberg was an attorney at two other leading law firms. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard R. Clifton, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Mr. Goldberg received his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law and served as Editor-in-Chief of the UCLA Law Review. He earned his A.B., magna cum laude, from Brown University.

Mr. Goldberg has extensive knowledge of Asia and has lived in Hong Kong, the PRC and Taiwan.
