Mr. O Mara brings over 20 years of experience in working with technology companies as well as deep knowledge and expertise in the Asia Pacific markets and is currently the Managing Director, Head of Technology Specialist Sales, Asia Pacific at Jefferies & Company where his primary focus has been in emerging Asian technologies. Mr. O Mara will assist Vadium as the company grows its security solutions and navigates the expansion of its business into global markets to meet customer demands for safeguarding and protecting the confidentiality and integrity of digital content throughout the information lifecycle.

About Conor O Mara
Mr. O Mara is a Managing Director at Jefferies Inc. and head of Asian Technology Media Telcom Specialist sales and has 20 years’ experience investing in technology companies. He started out his career at Kleinwort Benson Investment Management as a global equity portfolio manager in 1994, focused on Japan. KBIM subsequently became RCM and he became part of the global tech team at the firm. From 2000-2005 he was one of the founders, a partner and senior analyst at Europe’s first independent research firm, Arete Research, which is a boutique focused on Technology Media Telcom investments. During that time he was one of the leading analysts in the European internet security sector, covering companies such as Baltimore Technologies and Trintech Systems. In 2005 he got seeding for, launched and managed the Dublin-quoted HSBC Global Technology Alpha fund, a long short hedge fund focused on Asian technology, and subsequently ran similar strategies at Balyasny Asset Management and Morgan Stanley Strategic Investment Group until 2011, when he joined Jefferies as Head of Technology Media Telcom Specialist Sales Asia Pacific.
At Jefferies he covers a wide range of Technology Media Telcom clients globally through his daily reports, and is responsible for all Asian Technology Media Telcom IPOs in terms of sales pitch, management preparation, distribution, roadshows and trades. Given his 20 years experience as a fund manager, he has strong relationships with many technology companies in Asia across hardware, telecoms, internet and payments. He also sources regular corporate access events for clients and is rated highly by many large institutional clients. Mr. O Mara has a first class honours (summa cum laude) in International Marketing & Languages from Dublin City University and an MSC in Finance from London Business School.
In addition to his role at Jefferies, in his spare time he is the local representative of the Irish Funds Industry Association in Hong Kong, promoting the use of Ireland as a fund services platform for Chinese funds. He is former Chairman of the Irish Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong and heads up the Financial Services Committee of the chamber.
