TOKYO--()--Reed Exhibitions Japan will be opening the doors to the 2014 edition of Japan IT Week Autumn today until October 31 at MAKUHARI MESSE, Japan. http://www.japan-it.jp/en/aki/

Japan IT Week Autumn is the autumn edition of Japan IT Week Spring http://www.japan-it.jp/en/, known as Japan’s largest show for IT and the world’s largest for software and apps. The show will be composed of 7 independent exhibitions gathering the latest IT technologies and solutions from Japan, Asia and the world: 5th Cloud Computing Expo Japan (CLOUD JAPAN Autumn), 4th Web & Mobile Marketing Expo (Web-Mo Autumn), 3rd Data Center Expo (DATA CENTER Autumn), 4th Information Security Expo (IST Autumn), 4th Smartphone & Mobile Expo (SMARTPHONE Autumn), 3rd Big Data Management Expo (BIG DATA Autumn) (former: Big Data & Data Management Expo) and 2nd Direct Commerce Solutions Expo (DIREX Autumn).

Great business hub for IT professionals

Overall, 430 exhibitors and 32,000* professional visitors will be participating at this year’s show which are both record breaking figures since the launch 5 years ago (*expected). In terms of exhibitor number, 110 more firms will be exhibiting and the overall show size will also be expanding by 40%. The visitor number is also expected to increase and this will be a 24% rise from the previous edition.

Japan IT Week Autumn has grown to become one of the largest comprehensive B-to-B IT shows in Japan held in the second half of the year in just 5 years. The major factor behind the expansion is thought to be the show dates. Before the launch of the autumn edition, Japan IT Week was only held once a year in spring but as budget for Japanese firms generally start in autumn, the time to seal deals for new investments can be more favourable in the second half of the year. Thus by holding an autumn edition had led to flexibility for the professionals to negotiate business leading to a higher level of satisfaction. Evidently, many of the exhibitors at the previous show were able to close many deals and some were able to make sales worth 10 and 100 millions of Japanese Yen. This year’s edition will be no exception and is sure to serve as a great platform to discuss new business for the coming year.

Impressive line-up of exhibits and conference sessions

The environment to conduct business is certainly a big contributor to make good business during the show but the line-up of exhibiting firms are also expected to boost the popularity of show this year. Major exhibitors such as NTT COMMUNICATIONS, SONY, PANASONIC, SOFTBANK, KDDI, CISCO SYSTEMS, BOX, FIREEYE, F5 NETWORKS JAPAN, JAPAN POST, SAGAWA EXPRESS, YAMATO GLOBAL EXPRESS etc. will be participating.

Also, new pavilions will be launched this year. Australia and Poland will be exhibiting as national pavilions for the first time gathering numerous technologies and solutions unique to their country, for instance, new cloud technologies and smart phone applications will be showcased. The Australia pavilion will be gathering 16 firms within the pavilion and 10 firms in the Poland pavilion. Many of the firms are exhibiting for the first time at an IT exhibition in Japan so visitors will be able to find technologies and services yet to be launched into Japan at these pavilions.
