KYOTO, Japan--()--Murata (TOKYO:6981) (ISIN:JP3914400001) today launched a new visual identity that includes changes to the corporate logo and other key visual identity elements. The objective of this initiative is to better express Murata's philosophy and brand promise – "Innovator in Electronics®.”

"The world of electronics keeps changing, and Murata is expanding to new applications and exploring a variety of technologies to meet changing market needs. Murata today is a global company of over 37,000 employees, all sharing the same principles and servicing our customers with same global standards. We hope that our new visual identity implemented globally solidifies the Murata philosophy and our commitment to innovation," said President Tsuneo Murata.

The most visible element of Murata's brand is the logo, which was created in the 1940’s. It is a well-known symbol that represents the story of a 70-year-old company that has transformed from a small Kyoto-based family business to a global leader in electronics components and solutions. Because of its legacy, changes to the logo are subtle, but very thoughtful and meant to convey Murata’s progressive nature. For example, the capital letter "R" is now more prominent to symbolize the company’s focus on Research and Development. In addition, doing away with the red box around the logo conveys Murata's collaboration with customers and partners, openness to new technologies and active contribution to the advancement of society and electronics industry through creation of innovative products and solutions.

Murata's slogan – “Innovator in Electronics®” – remains unchanged, but the typeface has been updated to a more modern font, making it easier to read and better representing progress and innovation.

"Innovation at Murata means much more than just innovating new products. It is a spirit shared by all employees and symbolizes our aim to become the company that leads innovation throughout the entire electronics industry," explained Tsuneo Murata.
