SINGAPORE -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Wolters Kluwer Financial Services announced today that, Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional (Bank BTPN), one of the leading local banks in Indonesia serving more than 1.5 million customers, has reported that it completed 2012 year-end closing and submitted LBU commercial bank monthly reports to the regulator Bank Indonesia (BI) in three hours thirty minutes through Wolters Kluwer Financial Services’ IFRS solution. The results represent an 86% decrease in time in comparison to the previous year (Dec 11 to Dec 12 from 26hrs 11mins into 3hrs 30mins).

Bank BTPN selected Wolters Kluwer Financial Services IFRS solution in order to address PSAK 50 & 55 and meet BI requirements which stipulate that financial institutions complete all year-end closing for year-end reporting to the regulator, within five calendar days. BTPN originally selected Wolters Kluwer Financial Services’ IFRS solution in 2009 due to its solid data management capabilities which provide support to multiple business lines, including pensions and small business loans.

“With BI expecting all banks to complete year-end closing processes within five days, Bank BTPN required a vendor which could support both our finance and risk systems together,” said Karim Siregar, director at Bank BTPN. “Since the implementation of Wolters Kluwer Financial Services’ IFRS solution, we have been delighted with the results, having completed all year-end processes within four hours. We look forward to further financial performance process improvements as we continue to work with Wolters Kluwer Financial Services in achieving compliance with BI requirements.”

“Indonesian banks have committed to deliver month-end and year-end reporting on time to Bank Indonesia. BTPN informs us that it is now comfortably meeting the deadlines with a fully automated process with our IFRS solution,” said Chris Puype, managing director Asia Pacific at Wolters Kluwer Financial Services. “We are delighted to be working with BTPN and the strength of these results are testament to the strong working relationship we have with the bank.”

One of the foremost Indonesian IT technology companies, Anabatic Technologies, assisted with bringing Wolters Kluwer Financial Services’ capabilities to the Indonesian market, as well as contributing to the overall implementation of the solutions for Bank BTPN.

“We are delighted to be working with Wolters Kluwer Financial Services, a leading provider of IFRS solutions on the market, with the provision of our licensed IT technology and professional services,” said Handojo Sutjipto, president director at Anabatic Technology. “Banks looking to meet BI requirements should look no further than Wolters Kluwer Financial Services, who have the required expertise and know-how, as demonstrated by these impressive implementation results.”

In 2012, Wolters Kluwer Financial Services was named as the leading provider in a report by Chartis Research titled “IFRS Technology Solutions for Financial Institutions 2012”. For more information on the leading IFRS solution, visit www.wolterskluwerfs.com

About Bank BTPN

Since starting in 1958 in Bandung, West Java and then changing our name in 1986 to Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional, BTPN has come a very long way.

It was listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange in 2008 and a year later added micro-financing to its portfolio of pension banking services.

Recognizing that today's challenges are forcing businesses to change the way they operate, we have taken a step further, by creating and launching Daya in 2011. This mass market enablement platform which seeks "to increase the significance potential of every Indonesian" is close to the heart of the BTPN business ethos and intent.

Whilst many global companies may aspire to make a difference through their CSR program, ours is entrenched in our business model. So much so that our tagline, "hidup yang lebih berarti" which means "to give our customers a more meaningful life" is not just CSR for us – but a means of doing good through our business, and ensuring that we and our customers, do well in the process.

If a proper definition of a person's self is based on their potential, then their vision of what they can become should be the foundation of living a better life – a life of significance.

At BTPN, we believe that Indonesians from all walks of life desire a life of significance. We can help them achieve this through our business if we enable and support them through access, information, and education.
