HI CORPORATION and Obigo Conclude a MOU for the Cutting Edge HTML5 Web Technology Targeting the Japanese Market

HI CORPORATION (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuo Kawabata; hereinafter "HI")(JASDAQ:3846) announced today that HI has signed a MOU with Obigo Inc. (Headquarters: Seoul, South Korea; CEO: David Doeyun Hwang; hereinafter "Obigo") on the collaboration to develop and sell Obigo's browser-related products and their consulting for the Japanese market.

HTML5 is the latest HTML standard that is a predominant markup language for web pages, and it is now drawing a lot of attention from various industries including the Web industry because it has potential to become one of the application development platforms for smartphones, digital home electronics, etc.
Through this MOU, HI and Obigo are committed to offering the most promising innovative HTML5 web technology for services provided through mobile phones, home electronics and on-board electronics in Japan.

Obigo's CEO David Doeyun Hwang said, "We are very pleased to collaborate with HI who ensures a wide range of partnerships in the embedded industry as well as abundant experience and knowledge of application development for the embedded environment. We want to provide services for Smart TV (*1) and WAC solution (*2) that caught the attention of many visitors at the 2011 CES and MWC as they are increasingly popular in Japan. In addition, we would like to work actively with HI to provide a browser service that requires a high-level of knowledge for development for the Japanese market."
