CAMBRIDGE, Mass. & KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cybercrime fighters from across the globe will be meeting in Malaysia next month to plan the next stage in the global confrontation with cybercrime.

The fifth annual APWG operations conference (CeCOS V), will be held on April 27-29 in Kuala Lumpur. Electronic crime (ecrime) fighters from Europe, the United States, South America, Asia and Australia will assemble to hear presentations on the cybercrime threat - and to network among like-minded professionals from a number of industries and government sectors.

Professionals from financial institutions, online retailers, Internet service providers, technology developers as well law enforcement professionals, government ministers and university researchers will gather to discuss the challenges faced by cybercrime responders and investigators - and to help develop resources for professionals who protect consumers and enterprises from electronic crime threats every day.

APWG Secretary General Peter Cassidy said, "CeCOS conferences have one imperative: to unite the cybercrime responder community so that it can better act in concert against the threats that menace enterprises and consumers worldwide."
