SINGAPORE & HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Branded Ltd. today announced that Music Matters, the marquee event for the Asian music industry, will be held in Singapore from 24-28th May, 2011. Created in 2006, Music Matters has expanded from a two-day conference to a full programme for music and digital entertainment industry professionals, and incorporates Music Matters Live music festival featuring performances from Asian and international music artists.

Music Matters is the pioneer music industry event in the Asia Pacific region, and continues to be the leading forum for key players in the music industry to discuss and conduct the business of music,” said Jasper Donat, Co-Founder of Branded and President of Music Matters. “Singapore’s exceptional infrastructure for international events and thriving entertainment scene will give us an opportunity to take Music Matters 2011 to the next level.”

The digital entertainment landscape is rapidly evolving and creating new opportunities to monetise music and video content. New for 2011, the programme will increase from two to four days and will include sessions on all forms of digital video entertainment including movies, video gaming, television and advertising.

Launched in 2010, the inaugural Music Matters Live with H&M music festival featured 37 bands from 12 countries performing in Hong Kong’s Lan Kwai Fong premier entertainment district. Music Matters Live 2011 will once again give the bands a rare opportunity to mix and meet with major music industry heavyweights who are attending Music Matters. Bands wishing to perform during Music Matters Live in Singapore can register on the web site to be selected.

When Music Matters embraces the ability of music as a communication and fundraising tool to make a difference in Asia and around the world. In previous years When Music Matters has raised funds for Unicef’s Sichuan and Myanmar relief efforts. In 2010, When Music Matters partnered with generous sponsor, Gibson Guitars, to fund a music education program for Cambodian River Kids. When Music Matters has also profiled MTV Exit and Hard Rock’s music charity initiatives. Organisations making a difference through music are welcome to approach Music Matters with partnership proposals for 2011.
