World Clean Coal Week China Focus 2010

Supported by World CTL Association, Carbon Capture & Storage Association, Association of Electricity Producers and Underground Coal Gasification Partnership, World Clean Coal Week China Focus 2010 was held on Nov. 29 - Dec. 3 in Ritz-Carton Beijing, China.

Workshop

The conference theme, "Roadmap to Active Deployment of Cleaner Coal Technologies",  provides a broad platform for addressing the relevance of gasification technology, coal to liquid, synfuels, IGCC and environmental issues. Besides the 3-day forum, World Clean Coal Week incorporates a workshop focused on carbon capture and storage and a site visit to Shenhua Coal to Liquid Project in Ordos, Inner Mongolia.

World Clean Coal Week China Focus 2010, which is organized by SZ&W Group, attracted more than 260 famous organizations and companies, such as Shenhua Group, GreenGen ,  Huaneng Group, Jincheng Anthracite Mining Group, China Coal, ONGC, China United Coalbed Methane Co., Ltd, Sasol, Synfuels China , Peobody Energy, Linde Group, ExxonMobil, Lurgi, Air Liquide, GE Energy, Air Products and Chemicals, Clean Coal Power R&D, Luca Technologies, Linc Energy.

Dazhao Gu, General Manager of Shenhua's Science and Technology Development Department ; Minghua Du, Deputy Director of Beijing Research Institute of China Shenhua Coal To liquid and Chemical Co. Chunsong Qi, Vice President of GreenGen ;Joseph P. Strakey, Chief Technology Officer of National Energy Technology Laboratory, U.S. Department of Energy; Fredrick D. Palmer, Senior Vice President of Peabody Energy delivered brilliant speeches during the event. Mr. Yuzhuo Zhang, who missed the conference duce to plane delays, sent a congratulatory message to the organizing committee on the success of the conference.

Gu Dazhao, General Manager of Science and Technology Department told at the World Clean Coal Week that the facility, installed at the firm's coal-to-liquids plant in Inner Mongolia, will start injecting captured CO2 into underground storage facilities in January 2011.

One representative from Pall Corporation said at the end of the conference " The conference was good, helpful and useful. Please continue this work. I would like to participate next time."

Shenhua Coal to Liquid Project in Ordos, Inner Mongolia.

The participants of World Clean Coal Week China Focus 2010 visited Shenhua Group's coal to liquid (CTL) project in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. Mr. Jiming Zhang, general manager of Shenhua Coal Liquefaction Corp welcomed the visitors and delivered a speech. And the project's Chief Engineer ,Geping Shu showed the visitors around the site and answered the questions.
