Magazine's growth prompts first Asia ad sales hire

SINGAPORE & NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Patrick Brownlow has been named Advertising Sales Director for Asia and the Pacific Region at Bloomberg Markets magazine, the magazine for the Global Financial Elite; it was announced today by Publisher Mike Dukmejian.

Based in Singapore, Brownlow will oversee all advertising sales in Asia and the Pacific area, with a strong focus on South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Australia and New Zealand.

Brownlow is Bloomberg Markets' first fully-dedicated Asian-based advertising sales executive, a reflection of the publication's global growth at a time when rivals have been scaling back. Advertising pages are up 24 percent for the year and the rate base is rising from 315,000 to 355,000 beginning with the January 2011 issue. Asia and Pacific Rim circulation has risen 11 percent to 69,000 this year. The November 2010 issue broke an advertising record, coinciding with its acclaimed redesign and editorial expansion into wealth and career topics.

Brownlow comes to Bloomberg Markets with more than 12 years of both print and online media experience. He was previously the Publishing Operations & Sales Director at UK's C Squared, overseeing the expansion of the M&M brand, including partnerships and sales of events such as the M&M Awards, Cream, Nation Branding and the Festival of Media.

Brownlow held a number of management sales positions at such notable companies as TIME Singapore, TIME London, and Ziff-Davis UK. He graduated from the University of Wolverhampton.

Bloomberg Markets magazine serves the Global Financial Elite, providing insight and perspective on the companies, trends, issues and people that move the world's markets. Bloomberg Markets readers are the youngest and most affluent among all financial and business publications and its editorial content has earned more journalism and design awards than all of the finance and business magazines combined.
