Richardson Electronics, Ltd. (NASDAQ: RELL), today announced it has been named "Most Preferred International Distributor" by Global Sources (China). This year marks the fourth time Richardson Electronics has received this prestigious award, which recognizes the outstanding services provided by distributors to China's electronics manufacturing companies.
The award was presented after completion of the tenth "Electronic Components Distributors Survey," conducted annually by Global Sources' Electronics Supply & Manufacturing-China (ESMC), one of China's top electronics management publications. The Survey reveals the most preferred component distributors, as well as the most influential persons in the distribution industry. This year's survey polled 249 senior managers working for mainland China's leading component distributors and 1,674 corporate purchasing or procurement managers from electronics manufacturing companies operating in mainland China.
Cui Wei, Vice President of Richardson Electronics' RFPD Sales in China accepted the award in Shenzhen. When asked what sets Richardson Electronics apart from other distributors in the very competitive China electronics market, Mr. Cui stated: "Richardson Electronics is more than a distributor. In addition, Cui Wei was one of five electronic component distributor executives who received the "Person of the Year" award. The award acknowledges the most influential executives in China's distribution industry, who are "outstanding managers and leaders in the industry who affect not just their business, but the industry and the wider world." Cui was specifically recognized for his leadership in organizing Richardson Electronics China sales team and contribution in China's electronic component distribution industry.
