ZHUHAI, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kemin China begins the initial phases of a 7-year long facility expansion.

Plans for the expansion began in April of 2008 when the existing production capacity and warehouse could not meet customer demands in China.

“Our business in China has more than doubled in the last few years with continued growth expected in the future,” says Dr. Zhilin Gan, Kemin Agrifoods China President. “The facility expansion will enable us to better meet the growing demand for Kemin products in the region.”

Construction crews are diligently working on the initial phase of the overall expansion. When the first phase is complete in September of this year, the expanded facility will nearly double in size, adding an additional 1,924 square meters of production and storage space.

With the addition to the production facility, Kemin China will have the needed space to install new machinery which will enable the company to manufacture additional products and deliver customer orders in a timely manner. The expanded facility will provide additional employment opportunities to the local community.

When the final expansion is complete in 2015, Kemin China will also have added a food ingredients factory.
