World's Largest Telecom Provider Selects Momentum to Combat Spam and Enhance Email Security

COLUMBIA, Md. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Today, Message Systems, the premier provider of fast, flexible and holistic message management solutions, announced 21CN Corporation Limited (21CN) has selected Momentum. A wholly owned subsidiary of the China Telecoms Group, 21CN is one of the largest ISPs in China as well as a broadband and Mobile Value Added Services provider for market segments including online marketing. 21CN will use Momentum to enhance security of the email platform for one of the world's largest telecommunications providers.

Managing email systems for telecommunications companies in China has become increasingly more challenging with the increase in messaging threats including spam. According to Symantec's July 2010 MessageLabs Intelligence Report, spam levels reached 90.6 percent in Hong Kong and 86.7 percent in Singapore, rivaling the US in terms of being the biggest source of spam. As the technical services provider for China Telecom's 189.cn consumer email system and its BizNavigator enterprise email platform, 21CN understands the severity of the messaging security and management issue and the need for an advanced solution for countering attacks and preventing threats from causing any damage.

21CN chose Message Systems' next-generation solution after evaluating different solutions. Momentum provides a robust, high-performance solution that is easy to integrate with existing infrastructure, and deploy as needed today, and in the future. By using Momentum, 21CN can keep customers safe from messaging abuse by integrating advanced filtering from Symantec, resulting in lower infrastructure costs, and increased customer retention.

"Message Systems is a technology partner with local support that we have come to rely on for message management," said Pan Hao (潘浩), CTO of 21CN. "As our security needs are evolving, we turned to Message Systems for a solid technical solution and are committed to working with them to ensure optimal network protection for our customers from messaging threats and other email abuse."

"Being selected to implement a security solution for 21CN is a testament to the strength of our technology and also to the successful working relationship we have built with them," said David Harvey, vice president of business development and partners for Message Systems. "With expert resources on the ground in China, Message Systems is the superior choice to help 21CN counter ever-evolving network attacks, improve service levels, customer experiences and reduce costs through streamlined operations through its deployment of Momentum."
