New, Certified 1900 Universal Media Valve Transitions Between Liquid and Gas with No Set Pressure Adjustments

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dresser Consolidated® today announced the availability of the new 1900 universal media pressure relief valve. This new product meets customers’ needs for a pressure-reducing valve certified for both liquid and gas with no adjustments needed.

Customers can operate the 1900 universal media valve on either liquid or gas at the same set pressure without making any adjustments making it extremely flexible. Because of its highly efficient blowdown, the 1900 universal media valve returns processes back to normal operating pressure very quickly while minimizing the amount of process media released from the system. The 1900 universal media valve builds on the proven and trusted Dresser Consolidated 1900 safety relief valve to more easily accommodate its customers’ process changes.

“A major challenge for our customers is ensuring that they have equipment and components that integrate well for maximum flexibility, precision and efficiency,” said Joshua Scott, global director of product management for Dresser Consolidated. “The new 1900 universal media valve offers our customers a complete solution through its ability to transition between multiple media types with no adjustment to the set pressure.”

The 1900 universal media pressure relief valve offers improved performance and simplifies maintenance needs for the end user. The 1900 universal media valve benefits customers by:

  • Providing universal media operation – Offers customers a complete solution with a single valve trim certified for both liquid and gas with no adjustments needed.
  • Exceeding blowdown performance of competitive valves – Returns processes back to normal operating pressure as quickly as possible and minimizes lost liquid and gas.
  • Offering smoother operation – Improves performance and operation as a result of engineering enhancements.
  • Reducing noise – Creates less noise when popping on gas.
  • Decreasing customer inventory – Reduces the level of needed inventory for multiple valves by being interchangeable between liquid and gas, ultimately saving on costs.
