BOSTON--()--Racepoint Global, an integrated global marketing agency that delivers big agency results with a small agency touch, announced today the addition of Mark Jackson as the Deputy Managing Director of Asia. With more than 25 years’ experience in the marketing communications industry, Mark will spearhead Racepoint Global’s initiative to deepen and expand its footprint across Asia.Mark will also oversee Racepoint’s newly opened office in Shenzhen, China. This is the agency’s fourth office in Asia, and ninth globally. Racepoint’s strategy is to open offices in market-making cities, and the opening of the Shenzhen office stems from Racepoint’s desire to attract larger Chinese brands looking to expand into the US and European markets. Racepoint already services Huawei, a leading global brand, which is headquartered in Shenzhen.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity of helping Racepoint Global grow across Asia with a particular focus on China,” said Jackson. “With its fast growing technology sector and increased focus on healthcare, Racepoint – with its heritage in both of these markets – is ideally placed to support organizations of all sizes grow domestically and internationally.”

Prior to joining Racepoint Global, Mark served as the Middle East and North Africa Technology Practice lead at Ogilvy & Mather. During his time at Ogilvy, Mark built the depth and breadth of the agency’s regional technology PR practice, winning a number of major brands and building a social media team from the ground up. He also served as the lead for the agency’s Huawei business across all markets and agency disciplines.

“We are thrilled to be welcoming Mark Jackson to the Racepoint Global team,” said Peter Prodromou, President & CEO of the agency. “Growth in Asia is a critical goal of Racepoint. We are already experiencing huge success helping major Asian brands to penetrate the west, and our western based clients to penetrate the dynamic Chinese market. Mark, with his history in emerging and growth markets, and his deep understanding of our unique offer, is the ideal person to lead our agency in the region.”

“Our decision to add a Shenzhen office reflects our commitment to the rapidly expanding technology sector in that market,” continued Prodromou. “It also reflects our strategy of locating offices in cities that are centers of innovation, economic or political influence. Agencies with offices in dozens of cities represent an obsolete model. We can achieve superior results at a more cost-effective price for our clients by being in the centers of action and influence, and not spread across cities which don’t deliver value. We expect to continue making these kinds of strategic openings in 2017 and beyond.”
