ARLINGTON, Va.--()--The race is on to CES AsiaTM 2017 where vehicle technology will be out in full force at Asia’s premier tech event, including the latest from three major auto manufacturers –Hyundai, NEVS and Volvo – with more to be announced soon. New vehicle technology aims to make drivers and passengers safer, smarter and more connected than ever. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™, and co-produced by Shanghai Intex, CES Asia 2017 will take place June 7-9, 2017, in Shanghai, China at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).“Self-driving technologies and connected car capabilities are changing our world - from thousands of lives being saved on the roads each year, increased mobility and reductions in traffic and resulting carbon emissions to ride sharing options and a new world of device to device communication for real-time sharing of information between vehicles, roadside infrastructure and pedestrian devices,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “Cars have never been smarter, roads have never been safer and the possibilities for this not-so-distant future will be on display at CES Asia 2017.”

Major vehicle technology companies will be on hand at CES Asia showcasing the full supply chain of vehicle tech, including Baidu, Continental, NavInfo, Pioneer and Volvo. Featured automotive technology will be on display both on the show floor and outdoor exhibit space.

According to CTA research, factory-installed technologies, from entertainment systems to driver-assist features, make up an estimated 50 percent of the collective value in new vehicles, up from about 25 percent just 10 years ago.
