HONG KONG--()--Exiger, the global regulatory and financial crime, risk and compliance firm, announced that Associate Managing Director Hong Hui Wong will speak on a panel discussing sanctions oversight at the ACAMS 8th Annual AML & Financial Crime Conference, Asia Pacific. The conference will take place from April 25-26 at the Sheraton Grand Beijing Dongcheng, Beijing, China. Exiger’s Asia Pacific team will be available throughout the conference at Booths 4 and 5.

The panel, “Implementing Robust Sanctions Oversight for Prompt Responses to Global Challenges,” will take place on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 13:45-15:05. Key topics in sanctions compliance to be explored include:

  • Building a risk-based sanctions program to address jurisdictional requirements effectively
  • Instituting formal systems for adjusting oversight in accordance with international sanctions developments
  • Ensuring institutional commitment to compliance through a robust employee training program

“The best way to comply with global sanctions requirements is to think holistically about AML – particularly KYC – and sanctions, and use that framework to develop a dynamic, proactive, and sustainable plan focused on real-world risks,” said Mr. Wong. “More and more, we are seeing in other jurisdictions the type of high-profile enforcement often seen in the U.S., and are eager to help clients in those jurisdictions develop best practices for avoiding such actions.”
