ARLINGTON, Va.--()--Leading up to CES 2016®, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® is highlighting technology that is improving the world. The Tech Changing the World campaign will run through CES 2016 highlighting how technology on the show floor benefits people globally and can address some of the world’s greatest challenges. Owned and produced by CEA, CES 2016 will take place Wednesday, January 6-Saturday, January 9, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“CES is not just about entertainment products and services; we're seeing cutting edge technology which helps mankind and betters our world,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA. “We are excited to tell this story to CES attendees and the global audience we reach to reinforce that CES is the home for life-changing tech that improves lives today and can solve global issues tomorrow.”

Innovative technologies such as 3D printing, unmanned systems, health, smart homes and safe driving are all at CES across more than 20 Marketplaces and help improve the quality of our lives. CEA will showcase technology changing the world through digital content including blog posts, interviews, videos and Google Hangouts leading up to CES 2016.

A recent blog post featured CEA member and CES exhibitor 3D Systems who created 3D printed prosthetics to help a disabled dog gain mobility. “We believe everyone should have the means and the skills to transform potential into improved outcomes,” said Cathy Lewis, chief marketing officer, 3D Systems. "From engine prototypes to flight-ready aerospace parts, from a surgical trial-run to medical implants and from a designer dress to intricate confections – our 3D technologies are changing the way all of us live, work and play.”

So far, digital content for the Tech Changing the World campaign includes blog posts and videos on topics including mobile technologyInternet connectivity and clean cooking technology in the developing world, 3D printing’s uses in surgery andprosthetics and more. CEA will continue its Tech Changing the World campaign through CES 2016 in January. About CES:

CES is the world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. It has served as the proving ground for innovators and breakthrough technologies for more than 40 years—the global stage where next-generation innovations are introduced to the marketplace. As the largest hands-on event of its kind, CES features all aspects of the industry. And because it is owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the technology trade association representing the $285 billion U.S. consumer electronics industry, it attracts the world’s business leaders and pioneering thinkers to a forum where the industry’s most relevant issues are addressed.
