SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--eASIC Corporation, (@easic) a fabless semiconductor company that delivers a custom integrated circuit platform (eASIC Platform) today announced its sponsorship of a Light Reading webinar with China Mobile Research Institute, Telenor Research, ASOCS Ltd.

Heavy Reading analyst and panel moderator, Simon Stanley, will lead a discussion of network function virtualization (NFV) cloud-based radio access network (C-RAN) and how it has the potential to revolutionize the telecom network architecture and the wireless landscape from core centers to wireless communication itself by enabling the centralization and virtualization of the mobile base station. Not only does this new concept enable scalability and agility, it also promises to slash the cost per sector compared to what is available today.

Webinar attendees will gain insights into the practical realities and key requirements to enabling NFV C-RAN from the carriers, China Mobile and Telenor. Attendees will then hear from ASOCS and eASIC, who are working together to make NFV C-RAN a reality by developing an abstracted and flexible software framework that runs on a fast, power efficient hardware platform designed to address the identified carrier requirements for NFV C-RAN.

The webinar is scheduled to accommodate participants from multiple global time zones, and will be available on-demand for viewing following the live event.
