For SMBs in ISDN markets, the new SmartNode 5530 offers a smooth migration path to SIP-based telephony for two or four BRIs with secure encryption, IPv6 support, and the clearest IP voice quality ever.

SmartNode VoIP… More the just talk!

CeBIT 2015

NIEDERWANGEN, Switzerland--()--Next week at CeBIT, Patton will take the wrapper off its newest SmartNode VoIP product: the SmartNode 5530 Enterprise Session Border Router (ESBR) with two or four BRI ports.

For small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) in ISDN markets, the IPv6-ready SN5530 is an enterprise session border controller (E-SBC) that offers smooth migration to IP telephony for up to eight G.711 VoIP or T.38 fax calls and up to 512 SIP-to-SIP calls.

Patton is now taking orders for the SN5530 ESBR, which addresses four common challenges for SMBs in the ISDN world:

  • IP-enable existing ISDN phone system for SIP trunking (with optional PSTN fallback for survivability)
  • Integrate ISDN and SIP phone systems for gradual migration to all-IP (with SIP trunk and PSTN connections).
  • Replace costly TDM link to ISDN PBX with low-cost SIP trunk
  • Connect IP PBX to the PTSN over BRIs

For high-security requirements, the new SN5530 ESBR supports up to five concurrent calls with SRTP-encrypted voice and TLS-encrypted signaling.

Optional G.722 HD-Voice combined with Patton’s DownStreamQos delivers the highest voice quality in the VoIP industry.

The SN5530 enriches the small-office user experience with reliable support for such transparent ISDN features as Explicit Call Transfer (ECT), Advice of Charge (AOC), Calling Line Identification Presentation (CLIP) and Calling Line Identification Restriction (CLIR).

Patton’s split configuration domain ensures secure separation between the carrier WAN and customer LAN with a clear SIP-service demarcation point, while the included WEB Wizard simplifies and accelerates subscriber-side configuration.

An optional high-precision 5 ppm clock source prevents common interop challenges for DECT, PBX, and FAX in ISDN environments.

The SN5530—like all Patton products—comes with Patton’s Gold-Standard Free Support at no additional charge. Patton’s Platinum-Plus Premium 24/7 Support is also available.

Patton will exhibit at CeBIT in the Swiss Pavilion hall 13 booth C76.

Last month Croatian telecom provider Ikson reported cutting OpEx in half using Patton’s Element Management System.

In January, Patton accepted the company’s ninth INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award at ITEXPO.
