Signal Hill India Announces Promotions of Bhatia, Anthraper, Kelawala and Mittal

Signal Hill India Also Welcomes Nishant Malhotra to Signal Hill Bangalore

BANGALORE, India--()--Signal Hill Capital Advisory India Private Limited ("Signal Hill India"), a leading independent advisory boutique serving the M&A and private capital raising needs of growth companies, is pleased to announce the promotions of Nitin Bhatia, George Anthraper, Meherzad Kelawala and Gaurav Mittal*. Mr. Bhatia has been promoted to Managing Director, Mr. Anthraper and Mr. Kelawala have been promoted to Director and Mr. Mittal has been promoted to Vice President. All promotions were effective January 1, 2015.

After a rewarding 2014, with eight closed transactions in India, we are excited to enter the next phase of our growth," said Klaas Oskam, Managing Director, co-founder and head of Signal Hill India.

Signal Hill India is also pleased to announce the addition of Nishant Malhotra, who has joined as Vice President in Signal Hill's Bangalore office. Mr. Malhotra brings more than 10 years of investment banking, private equity and management experience, the latter with Wooqer, a successful Indian software start-up. Mr. Malhotra received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Brandeis University.

Nitin Bhatia

Mr. Bhatia has 14 years of middle market investment banking and client advisory experience. Over the last six years, Mr. Bhatia has personally led and closed transactions with a combined enterprise value of $700M across Enterprise Software, IT Services, Internet & Digital Media and Education Technology.

Mr. Bhatia joined Signal Hill India in January 2014 and leads the firm's Mumbai office. Prior to joining Signal Hill India, Mr. Bhatia was an Associate Director in the Investment Banking team of Edelweiss Financial Services, where he provided advisory services across M&A, private placement and capital markets products. Mr. Bhatia has also provided strategic consulting services to global and Indian clients across the Financial Services, Consumer Packaged Goods, Pharmaceutical and Hospitality industries.

Mr. Bhatia holds a P.G.D.M. (M.B.A.) from IIM Ahmedabad and B. Tech (Hons) from IIT Varanasi.

George Anthraper

Mr. Anthraper, a co-founder of Signal Hill India, has 11 years of financial services and investment banking experience, the last eight years of which were spent in technology investment banking. Mr. Anthraper's recent transaction experience includes the sale of a majority stake in Thinksoft to SQS, the sale of Cyberoam to Sophos, growth equity funding for Knowlarity from Mayfield Fund and Sequoia Capital and growth equity funding for Manthan from Temasek Holdings and Norwest Venture Partners.

Prior to joining Signal Hill India, Mr. Anthraper was Director and Head of India Operations for Technology Holdings, where he established the firm's India operation. Before Technology Holdings, he was Associate Vice President at Avendus Capital and began his career as an Associate at PriceWaterhouse.

Mr. Anthraper holds an M.B.A. from the Indian School of Business and is a Chartered Accountant.

Meherzad Kelawala

Mr. Kelawala, also a co-founder of Signal Hill India, has ten years of financial services and investment banking experience, of which the last eight years were spent in technology investment banking with a primary focus on Internet & Digital Media. Mr. Kelawala's recent transaction experience includes Flipkart's investment in ngpay, the sale of Gaadi.com to Cardekho.com and private placements for Vizury Interactive Solutions, Firstcry.com and Lenskart.com.

Prior to joining Signal Hill India, Mr. Kelawala was an Associate Vice President with the Investment Banking team of Ernst & Young India and an Associate in the Technology practice at Avendus Capital, Mumbai.

Mr. Kelawala holds an M.B.A. from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) and a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Mumbai.
