LONDON--()--Kohli Ventures, global investors in innovative ideas, disruptive technology and dynamic businesses in emerging markets, announces that it has opened an office in London, which will now serve as the Group’s Head Office. The office, which is in Mayfair, will be Kohli Ventures’ seventh office around the world; the other offices are located in Abu Dhabi, Buenos Aires, Delhi, Miami, San Jose and Vancouver.

Kohli Ventures’ role is to deliver global perspective to transform and maximise business potential on the world stage; in particular, the Group is focused on mentoring a new generation of entrepreneurs from emerging markets such as Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. London is therefore the obvious hub for the Group’s senior executives to use for its global operations, sitting as it does between the time zones of the East and West.

Indian-born entrepreneur Tej Kohli, the Founder and Chairman of Kohli Ventures, said:

“When you look at the vast majority of the great success stories in technology over the last decade, the average age of those entrepreneurs has been 23! We believe that youth is the future but that there is a significant amount of youth talent in the emerging markets, ready to make a major impact. We are therefore focused on supporting young entrepreneurs with sparkling innovations. Our new Head Office in London will provide a great bridge between East and West from which we can support our investee companies whether through IPOs, trade sales or simply by connecting them to important industry contacts.”

Kohli Ventures is actively seeking to invest in early-stage, high potential start-ups, primarily with high or novel technologies; further information is available at www.kohliventures.com

Notes to Editors:

  • Kohli Ventures provides smart capital – financial and intellectual capital, guidance and connections; the Group takes an equity stake and representation on a company’s board
  • Unlike many other venture capitalists, Kohli Ventures’ investment horizon is medium to long-term - typical investment horizon is five years with a clearly defined exit strategy to deliver superior returns on investment such as via an Initial Public Offering or trade sale
  • The Group is not interested in small ideas operating in tiny niches – any investment must have the potential to benefit and improve the quality of life for all those around them
