Environmental, Engineering and Equipment Collaboration the First of its Kind for LDAR

HOUSTON--()--Flexitallic and Sage Environmental Consulting L.P. have formed a global partnership to reduce fugitive emissions for the chemical, petrochemical, refining and oil and gas industries. Believed to be the first comprehensive program of its kind, the partnership will provide customers with seamless access to first class methods and products to find, fix and prevent unintentional product loss.

Flexitallic (Flexitallic.com) is a global leader in specialized sealing solutions and products serving the oil and gas, power generation, chemical and petrochemical industries in emerging and developed markets. Sage (SageEnvironmental.com) provides a broad range of specialty emission control and process safety environmental services for facilities that need to maximize operational flexibility while meeting regulatory requirements.

Flexitallic and Sage teams are being cross-trained in each other’s products and services, which is helping them present new and enhanced solutions to customers. Sage will use its industry-leading processes, people and technology to identify and manage fugitive emissions. Flexitallic will prevent or repair emission issues with its industrial sealing products and related training.

“Though this unique partnership, customers will be able to further their commitment to operating in a safe, responsible manner benefitting their communities, their employees, and their investors,” said Steve Probst, Chief Executive Officer of Sage. “Not only will our enhanced offerings lead to safer worksites and cleaner air through reduced VOC emissions, but they will also generate substantial cost savings by stemming the loss of valuable product from inadvertent leaks and reducing equipment downtime."

“Combining our worldwide reach and premier sealing portfolio with Sage’s reputation and consulting expertise is not only advantageous for the industry, but for our future business prospects as well,” said Scott Long, Director of Sales & Engineering, Flexitallic. “Because Flexitallic and Sage have cultures deeply rooted in advanced engineering and training, we share similar views not only of the opportunities, but of the ideal approaches to driving a clean air strategy. We’ll be able to reach new customers, implement innovative solutions, and spur new thinking about best practices for site management.”

The initiative has its roots in China, when Flexitallic and Sage began collaborating in 2013 to address significant air quality challenges in the market. That original pilot has since grown to serve multiple refineries.

The expanded partnership is now beginning its rollout in the Americas, and will extend to European markets by year-end. The companies are expected to broaden the program in other Pacific Rim countries in 2015, as well as continuing to grow the reach of the China partnership.
