WETHERBY, England--()--Swivel Secure, a global leader in multi-factor authentication, has boosted its presence in Asia Pacific (APAC) by recruiting Australia-based Randtronics as its first distribution partner, and Nepal-based Comtronics as its latest reseller partner.

The latest partnerships will enable Swivel Secure to meet the growing demand in APAC for flexible multi-factor authentication solutions capable of securing both cloud and virtual private network (VPN) remote access solutions.

Randtronics, Swivel’s first distribution partner in the region, provides data protection solutions for multinational organisations around the world. With offices in Sydney, Japan, South Korea, China, Philippines, Singapore and the US, Randtronics is able to support Swivel’s global expansion plans, together with its efforts to seek best of breed reseller partners in APAC.

Comtronics offers complete information technology outsourcing services to its global client base. The Swivel authentication platform will be integrated into Comtronics existing product portfolio to provide its customers with a flexible security solution which offers a choice of both tokenless and token-based multi-factor authentication.

Fraser Thomas, VP International at Swivel Secure, comments: “APAC has always been an important market for Swivel. Now, as cyber-attacks become more sophisticated, we are seeing an increased demand for more secure alternatives to the traditional username and password (UNP), which are used to secure corporate networks. With their global focus, both Randtronics and Comtronics will enable us to bring the Swivel solution to a wider market and communicate the benefits it offers over stagnant UNP solutions.”

To support its international partners, Swivel has launched an accredited partner programme. This will provide its channel partners with the sales, marketing and technical support it needs to open doors, close deals and service the technical requirements of customers.

“We are delighted to be working with Swivel Secure,” comments Bob Adhar, President and CEO at Randtronics. “Swivel is the only authentication technology accredited for Microsoft Office365, which offers primary support for a tokenless environment. As more companies in APAC move to the cloud and primarily to Office365, being able to offer an accredited security solution to our customers offers us a real unique advantage.”

Roshan Silwal, Director at Comtronics, adds: “As a technical VAR serving the needs of SMBs across APAC, we are increasingly receiving requests for strong authentication solutions that can secure remote access gateways. Being able to integrate the Swivel platform into our existing portfolio enables us to offer the perfect solution that will meet the needs of our customers.

Offering the widest range of user deployment options, according to Gartner, the Swivel platform offers the choice of mobile apps, SMS, OATH token and interactive voice response channels when full multifactor authentication is required. Swivel customers can also opt to utilise PINsafe, Swivel’s unique, patented one-time-code extraction protocol. PINsafe combines the use of registered PINs with random ten digit security strings that are sent to the user via SMS, mobile app, telephone, or web. The user combines the PIN with the string in order to work out their unique one-time access code. This protocol puts the user right at the heart of Swivel’s strong multifactor authentication process.
