Singapore– Some of the world’s largest hotel chains are looking to Asia as   their main focus for expansion in the coming years. Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide has 153 pipeline projects in Asia, while InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) plans to double its Southeast Asian presence, and Accor has planned for 45 per cent of its 104,000 new rooms to be located in the Asia Pacific.

This growth coupled with more tourist arrivals, an increasing number of airlines and a vibrant F&B scene, is testament to the region’s ever expanding hospitality industry. The upcoming 19th edition of HotelAsia is well poised to serve this growing demand. The event is one of the region’s most anticipated international trade exhibition of hotel, restaurant and foodservice equipment, supplies and services. From food processing to cooking equipment, HotelAsia is the main event where buyers from all across Asia will gather to source for the latest food service products.

A gathering of key industry players

To be held from 8 – 11 April 2014 at the Singapore Expo, HotelAsia is highly anticipated among the region’s industry. Lured by the continued growing scale and success of the show, international industry leaders that will be exhibiting at the show include, Alto-Shaam,  Bravo, Cambro Manufacturing Company, Eurochef, Greenfield World Trade, Henny Penny Corporation, Mastercool – Easybest, Middleby Xme SL, MSM Equipment Manufacturer, Pregel and Rational International AG.

Other topics that will be covered include managing hotel operations and revenue optimisation strategies; managing F&B operations and food concepts; latest technologies for the hotel and F&B; food safety, covering latest food regulations and contamination detection methods and food product innovation and development.

The FHA Culinary Challenge (FCC) will see more than 850 chefs from all over the world battle it out in the Individual Challenge, Dream Team Challenge and Gourmet Team Challenge. Returning this year to the FCC is the National Team Challenge. Held once every four years, 10 national teams will compete, but only the top three will qualify for the Battle of the Lion, with one emerging victorious.
