HONG KONG--()--Next month 60 speakers from 47 companies around the globe will meet at CARTES Asia Secure Connexions in Hong Kong to discuss Innovative Commerce in Asia; Mobile Payment Technology; Cybersecurity, NFC and Smart Applications; Fraud; and, Identification, Biometrics and Governments. World experts from countries including Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Israel, Korea, Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden, Tunisia, UK and USA will gather at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 19 and 20 March to make presentations about the opportunities and challenges in the fields of Card Manufacturing, Advanced Payment & Mobile Money and Secure Identity and share their hands-on experience. Alongside the conference, around 100 exhibitors from 18 countries will showcase and launch new smart technology products. Also taking place is the 5th edition of the Asian SESAMES Awards, which reward the best technologies and innovation in APAC.

Conference speakers will come from companies and associations including the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Genkey (Netherlands), Hologram Industries (France), Infineon (Germany), NXP Semiconductors (China), PCI Security Standards Council (USA), Public Health Ministry of Tunisia, Tendyron (China), Thales e-Security (UK) and Tradelink Electronic Commerce (Hong Kong).

One of the first key sessions will look at the security of mobile commerce, an increasingly hot and fascinating topic especially in Asia. New components absent from the card ecosystem are becoming increasingly advanced: the secure element, the service back-end… and the mobile device itself, packed with technologies that will either enhance security or compromise it. The session will give attendees a better idea of what is at stake in the mobile commerce industry and what businesses need to do to keep this complex ecosystem sufficiently secure.

On day two, Esmond Lee, Executive Director, Financial Infrastructure Department of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority will start the Innovative Commerce in Asia seminar sessions with a talk on how the Authority supports retail payments in Hong Kong.

Isabelle Alfano, CARTES Events Director said: “CARTES Asia Secure Connexions serves as a brilliant platform for card manufacturers but also mobile payment and secure identity players to reveal their latest applications to new and existing customers and for industry players to share their views and approaches to current technologies.”

“We usually see around 3,000 attendees from across Asia Pacific, and beyond, descend on CARTES Asia and we look forward to welcoming them to our new location at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre,” added Alfano.

COMEXPOSIUM, the organiser of CARTES Asia Secure Connexions, also organises the home show CARTES Secure Connexions which is based in Paris and has been the world’s largest smart technologies event since 1985. For nearly 30 years, CARTES has earned the trust of 650 companies from 45 countries taking part continually in the three different shows in Europe, Asia and America, attracting more than 25,000 visitors from 150 countries.
