MOI Participates in the Interpol Meeting in Lyon, France

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates--()--The Ministry of Interior participated in the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) meeting, which was held on 14 and 15 of November in Lyon, France.

The Ministry’s delegation was headed by Colonel Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi from the Human Rights Department and comprised of 10 officers specialized in combating human trafficking from the Ministry and its different police sectors. The delegation also included members of the public prosecution and judges from the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

The attendees discussed the necessary means to enhance international cooperation in combating human trafficking, the benefit of social media to highlight human trafficking crimes, combating the trafficking of human organs, and protecting children from abuse.

The Head of the UAE delegation presented a worksheet about the UAE’s efforts to combat human trafficking. The delegation participated in the educational exhibition about human trafficking crimes through the distribution of publications, brochures, and books specialized in the field.

The delegation also participated in the specialized course that was specifically held for it on the sidelines of the congress. During this course, the delegation received information and was acquainted with skills by international specialists in combatting organized and human trafficking crimes.
