SINGAPORE -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Qvest Media, part of the German Wellen+Nöthen Group, announces the winning of the contract for a landmark project - MediaCorp‘s new campus at Mediapolis@one-north. MediaCorp is Singapore’s leading media company with the most complete range of platforms, spanning television, radio, newspapers, magazines, movies, digital and out-of-home media. Initiatives in the new digital space include Internet TV-on-demand, High Definition TV broadcast and Over-the-Top (OTT) interactive services. Until the project is completed by the end of 2015, Qvest Media will be responsible for comprehensive project-related consulting, evaluation and development of technology and business processes. The company will be in charge of the integration planning and implementation services as well as the service and customer support during the commissioning and supervision of the primary on-air phase. The project marks the successful kick-off for the company’s new subsidiary in Singapore and the expansion of its business in Southeast Asia.

The technological changes to the structure of the MediaCorp network go hand-in-hand with relocation of MediaCorp to the new campus at Mediapolis.

“This project is one of the most important technological milestones since we started our broadcasting operations in 1936. After its completion in 2015, we will carry out our media operations in one of the most technologically advanced new campuses in the Southeast Asia region,“ says Joe Igoe, Chief Technology Officer, MediaCorp.

Norraine Yusof, SVP of Campus Technology Development, MediaCorp, ads: “Qvest Media understood our approach to the project instantly. This has enabled us to define our shared objectives from the onset to determine our requirements in the fields of management, technology, processes and resources.“

In the initial phase, the major contract includes the entire broadcasting and media consulting, which will streamline the broadcaster to an entirely new technical design, ensuring a high level of competitiveness over the coming decades. One of the central elements of the design concept encompasses technological development and planning services. The aim here is to efficiently link infrastructural areas within MediaCorp to ensure that functions such as ingest, non-linear post-production, multi-channel playout and media asset management will be mapped out in an integral overall concept through end-to-end file-based workflows. In later phases, Qvest Media will also be responsible for the entire operational project planning, management and execution, alongside the technical development and system integration.

“Qvest Media will provide MediaCorp with an internationally-experienced and highly-specialized partner for the realization of the major infrastructure project. The MediaCorp contract is further proof of our current position as one of the most powerful technology service providers for the broadcasting, media and telecommunications industry in the international growth markets. Moreover, the project is an important stepping stone towards laying a solid foundation for our new site in Singapore", says Stephan Koelsch designated Managing Director of Qvest Media Singapore. www.qvestmedia.sg
