Frontier Silicon, the leading supplier of digital radio and connected audio technology, part of the Toumaz Group (TMZ.L), today announces that its Venice 6.5 dual band connected audio solution supports Spotify Connect - the brand new way to play music at home by Spotify.

The announcement follows close collaboration between Frontier Silicon and Spotify, the leading music streaming service. As a result, audio devices powered by Venice 6.5, such as wireless speakers, AV receivers and Internet radios, will be part of the Spotify Connect experience. Spotify Premium users can control and play their music through their phone, tablet and audio devices simply and effortlessly, at the touch of a button.

“Working with Frontier Silicon has been incredibly easy” said Pascal de Mul, Global Head of Hardware Partnerships at Spotify. “It took only a few weeks to integrate the service and have products ready to go. I’m sure Frontier will do an excellent job at delivering a raft of Spotify Connect-enabled audio devices.”

Jim Nicholas, VP Marketing at Frontier Silicon, said: “We are pleased with this announcement; Spotify is a leading music streaming service, and Venice 6.5 devices with Spotify Connect massively enhance the audio listening experience for Spotify Premium users.”

FS2026-5 Venice 6.5 is the 3rd generation connected audio module from Frontier Silicon. It features industry-leading 802.11bgn 2.4/5GHz dual band Wi-Fi with advanced network and audio features. Spotify Connect on Venice 6.5 will be presented in Frontier Silicon’s demo room this week at IFA. First products from selected partner audio brands are due in the shops later this year.
