NORTH READING, Mass.--()--Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE:TER) announced that Acetec placed an order for 20 J750ExHD systems configured for digital wafer sort and final test of mobile connectivity devices. Teradyne will begin installation of these systems in Acetec’s new production test facility in Zhen Jiang, China in the third quarter of 2013 in advance of the facility’s scheduled completion in October 2013.

“We selected the J750ExHD as Acetec’s main ATE platform because it covers the broadest served market of low-cost consumer devices,” said Ken Wang, president and CEO of Acetec. “The additional system options will expand our served market for production test in the fast growing image sensor and mobile connectivity device segments. Fabless and IDM semiconductor companies have already started requesting J750 capacity with Teradyne’s new HD instruments and our new facility in Zhen Jiang will give them access to all of the systems in one place."

“Teradyne is pleased to partner with Acetec to expand its presence in the China semiconductor test services market with J750ExHD,” said Jason Zee, general manager of Teradyne's Consumer Business Unit. “The J750™ family of products, specifically the J750ExHD and IP750Ex, will expand Acetec’s capability to deliver low-cost production test services to a wide range of device makers serving some of the fastest growing segments in the semiconductor device market.”

With more than 4,000 systems installed serving over 150 customers, the J750 family is the industry standard tester in low-cost consumer SoC device markets including image sensors and microcontrollers. The J750ExHD reflects Teradyne’s ongoing R&D investments to meet the evolving test and measurement requirements of this cost-sensitive device market. The HD’s higher density instruments allow more chips to be tested simultaneously, further driving down the cost of test for each chip. These latest additions include a 48-channel device power supply, a 128-ch 800Mbps Multifunction digital instrument and a 72-channel converter test option.
