Craig Electronics, Curtis International and ViewSonic Sued for ATSC Patent Infringement

DENVER--()--MPEG LA, LLC today announced that four patent owners in MPEG LA’s ATSC Patent Portfolio License have filed patent enforcement actions in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Craig Electronics Inc. (“Craig Electronics”), Curtis International Ltd. (“Curtis International”) and ViewSonic Corporation (alternatively named ViewSonic Display Co.) (“ViewSonic”), for infringing patents essential to the ATSC digital broadcast standard used in the United States and other countries.

According to the complaints, Craig Electronics, Curtis International and ViewSonic offer television sets that use the ATSC digital broadcast standard without a license under essential patents. The suits seek monetary damages and injunctions.
