TAIPEI, Taiwan & WALTHAM, Mass.--()--IntervalZero, Inc., the leading provider of real-time operating system (RTOS) platforms for Microsoft Windows, today announced an agreement with global engineering, manufacturing and services provider NEXCOM International Co., Ltd. to distribute IntervalZero RTX and RTX64 software in Taiwan and in China.

IntervalZero CEO Jeffrey Hibbard said the distribution agreement “extends our strong strategic partnership with NEXCOM in the Taiwan and China markets where we see growing demand for pre-integrated PC-based motion controllers that capitalize on both RTX and RTX64.

"We've made significant investments in the region over the last three years and this partnership with NEXCOM will help us deliver a more complete machine control solution that will get our customers to market more quickly.”

In February 2012 IntervalZero opened an office in Taiwan that is staffed by a team of developers and field engineers who work closely with their NEXCOM colleagues.

NEXCOM and IntervalZero work jointly with customers, motion and servo drive manufacturers, and EtherCAT vendors to build a whole solution comprising NEXCOM's NISE fanless computers, Windows, and RTX/RTX64, which provide a RTOS scheduler for Windows. This combination of technologies is the foundation of a PC-based motion controller that will accelerate customers’ ability to build and deliver cutting-edge products.

Uniquely, IntervalZero’s most recent product release, RTX64, provides customers with a roadmap that will allow them to fulfill their vision for the next several generations of industrial machines, according to Hibbard.

He noted that tomorrow's Industrial Automation equipment will require far more than the 4GB physical memory and the 256MB (XP) / 2GB (Windows 7) non-paged pool memory available today. “These memory limitations prevent machine builders from offering valuable features such as vision systems that improve feedback mechanisms for breakthrough three-dimensional robotic applications with six axes of coordinated motion,” Hibbard said.

Only IntervalZero's RTX64 can address the 512GB physical memory and 128GB of non-paged pool memory required for a real time operating system (RTOS) scheduler integrated with Microsoft Windows.

NEXCOM's General Manager of the Industrial Computing Solutions Business Unit Joe Lin said NEXCOM sought the distribution rights for IntervalZero’s RTOS Platform because “RTX is innovative real-time technology that fits perfectly with our core strategy of being a reliable partner in helping our customers construct deterministic yet cost-effective distributed type motion controllers.

"We also know that our customers want to have a pre-integrated solution for their motion controller and one point of contact to support it. With RTX we can do that and most importantly we know IntervalZero stands at the ready to support us if we need it.”
