Sales Veteran Joins EVault to Help Drive Growth and Expansion in Critical Region

SAN FRANCISCO -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --

EVault, Inc., a Seagate Company (NASDAQ:STX), today named Paul Hartzell vice president for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Hartzell will lead the company's expansion, partnerships and overarching vision in the growing APAC market.

EVault already has been delivering cloud-connected backup and disaster recovery services to customers across the region for the last decade. According to a Gartner, Inc. press release on November 12, 2012, "spending on information technology (IT) in Asia Pacific is forecast to reach US$743 billion in 2013, an increase of 7.9 percent over 2012."

Additionally, in a September 18, 2012 press release Gartner said, "the public cloud services market is forecast to grow 19.6 percent in 2012 to total $109 billion worldwide." The fast-growing and diverse markets within the region provide potential for vendors and channel resellers to deliver their services to enterprise and midmarket businesses in need of reliable, secure cloud-based solutions.

"The Asia Pacific region is an important market for EVault. Its sheer size, rapid growth and IT savvy population present tremendous opportunities for us and our partners," said Dave Hallmen, vice president of marketing and sales for EVault. "Paul brings extensive experience in sales and in working with secure, resilient SaaS solutions that will align perfectly with the needs of our customers and partners in this dynamic region."

Prior to joining EVault, Hartzell was the senior vice president and founder of Merrill Corporation's DataSite division where he built the global sales organization for the company's virtual data room (VDR), which houses critical business information for mergers and acquisitions. Hartzell served as vice president of sales for PostX Corporation, an enterprise email encryption business and spent 15 years in the financial services industry as a top sales person for three different companies. He was also a Major League Baseball pitcher, having played six seasons with the California Angels (1976-1978), Minnesota Twins (1979), Baltimore Orioles (1980) and Milwaukee Brewers (1984).

"I've been consistently impressed by EVault's leadership in the cloud-connected backup and recovery space," said Hartzell. "The company puts a priority on offering best-in-class, innovative services to its customers and partners around the world and I look forward to driving the vision and expansion for EVault in the burgeoning Asia-Pacific region."
