Leading Provider of Nanotechnology-based Solutions Appoints David Yao as Country Manager for Taiwan and Greater China

SUNNYVALE, Calif. & TAIPEI, Taiwan -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Cambrios Technologies Corporation, the leader in nanotechnology-based solutions to enable the development of electronic devices with transparent conductors, today announced the establishment of its branch office in Taipei, Taiwan and the appointment of David Yao as Cambrios' Country Manager for Taiwan and Greater China.

Formation of Cambrios' Taiwan office reflects the company's commitment to serving manufacturers of touch technology, IT, and consumer electronics companies in the Taiwan and Greater China region to incorporate Cambrios' ClearOhmTM Film and ClearOhmTM Ink into their products.

"Manufacturers in Taiwan and Greater China are leaders in developing and building new personal computer, mobile, and consumer technologies and products. As the markets for flexible and large-area, projected-capacitive touch sensors continue to emerge, we will work with our local customers and partners to meet the stringent requirements of these markets to offer flexibility, high conductivity and best optical performance, at a low cost," said John LeMoncheck, Cambrios' President and CEO. "The establishment of our Taiwan office will bring the company closer to this leading-edge market and will augment the quality of technical support to our key customers. This announcement underscores our commitment to the region that will play a prominent and strategic role in driving our growth in the Asian market."

Cambrios' ClearOhm coating material enables superior optical performance and high-conductivity film-based sensors ranging from 10 to 150 Ohms/square, a requirement for large size touch panels -- unachievable with ITO sputtered on film. Film-based sensors are preferred to traditional glass-based sensors for panels larger than 7 inches because of their lower cost, lighter weight, thinness and "shatter-proof" qualities. Cambrios' sensor products based on ClearOhm Film and ClearOhm Ink are cost effective, enabling faster mass-market adoption of touch-enabled Ultrabooks and all-in-one computers.

David Yao Appointed Country Manager for Taiwan and Greater China

As Country Manager for Taiwan and Greater China, David Yao will drive business development initiatives and oversee sales and distribution for Cambrios in Taiwan and Greater China. He is also responsible for Cambrios' End User Programs worldwide.

"David brings to Cambrios his keen understanding of mobile, PC and CE customers' requirements and experience in the development of business in the Asia Pacific markets. This makes him an ideal candidate to manage and cultivate our partnerships and customer base," continued LeMoncheck. "His proven track record in implementing sales strategies that yield extraordinary results and the depth of his business network in the Asia Pacific market gives us confidence that he will successfully promote and accelerate the growth of Cambrios' business in Taiwan and Greater China."

David Yao has extensive high-tech semiconductor sales and product management expertise. He joins Cambrios from Synerchip where he led sales efforts in Asia. Prior to Synerchip, he was Vice President of Sales for SiBEAM's Asia Pacific Region and earlier held a similar role at Silicon Image as Vice President of Field Sales where he was responsible for sales activity in the Asia Pacific and North America regions. Yao also previously served as the director of sales in Japan for Trident Microsystems where he managed all OEM sales activities for Sony, NEC and IBM, as well as product marketing manager for the Graphics Chipset Division at Intel Corp. His experience in leading worldwide sales initiatives, identifying and developing new growth opportunities, and strong track record in achieving sales results will be invaluable for Cambrios' success.

"Cambrios is currently working with film-maker and sensor-maker partners, as well as other supply chain participants such as leading IC makers, to provide cost effective, high performance solutions for large area touch in applications including all-in-one computers, Ultrabooks and tablets, to serve ODM and OEM customers," said David Yao, Cambrios' Country Manager for Taiwan and Greater China. "I look forward to engaging with our partners and customers to develop innovative and cost-effective large area touch sensors based on Cambrios' unique ClearOhm technology."

About Cambrios:

Cambrios leads the industry in providing solutions based on proprietary, innovative technologies for consumer electronics markets using nanotechnology. Its breakthrough transparent conductor products, available today, simplify electronics manufacturing processes and improve end-product cost and performance for current and next-generation consumer devices such as large area and flexible touch, and other high conductivity, optically clear applications. The company's first product, its ClearOhmTM coating material, produces a transparent, conductive film by wet processing with significantly higher optical and electrical performance than currently used materials such as indium tin oxide. Applications of ClearOhmTM coating material include transparent electrodes for touch screens, EMI shielding, OLED displays, e-paper, OLED lighting and thin film photovoltaics.

Cambrios is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with offices in Japan and Taiwan.

ClearOhmTM is a trademark of Cambrios Technologies Corporation.
