Nokia Invites AskZiggy to Present at South by Southwest (“SXSW”) Interactive Event March 12th

“David versus Goliath Story”

SXSW 2012

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In connection with the South by Southwest Interactive Technology Event in Austin, Texas, AskZiggy, the world’s first independently created voice recognition technology and APP for Windows-based cell phones, including Nokia cell phones, announces that Microsoft has just approved the latest version of AskZiggy (Version 2.0) for immediate release on the Windows Phone Marketplace. This new version should be available to download through the Microsoft Store today by approximately 5 PM Eastern time. “Our new version is a ‘light years improvement’ over our first version, which received favorable reviews from over 200 media publications worldwide,” said AskZiggy’s founder and CEO, Shai Leib.

AskZiggy separately announced today that Nokia, the largest manufacturer of cell phones in the world by market share, has just personally invited AskZiggy to give a special demonstration of its voice recognition technology at its spectacular, 3-domed “Nokia Lab” at the SXSW (South by Southwest) Interactive Tech Festival in Austin, Texas, on Monday, March 12th, at 4 PM. “Only 5 companies from around the world were selected for this special Nokia event, and we think it is amazing that after being in business for only 12 weeks, Nokia selected us to be one of the five technologies to present,” said CEO Leib.

David vs. Goliath Story: “Although we are just 12 weeks old and have just doubled our employees from one to two, some in the media consider us a ‘David vs. Goliath’ story because we are now competing against Apple, with $100 billion of capital, and Google with $30 billion, not to mention thousands of their engineers who have spent years in the industry,” said Leib. “Yet despite modest funding and few employees, in just 12 weeks we have developed an application which some have already called the ‘SIRI killer,’ but we don’t embrace this label because we are new and totally respect these two companies, including Microsoft, and welcome their input on how to be like them,” Leib continued. “As we keep introducing new voice search, Personal Assistant and advertising features, and expand to Android, we hope to follow in their footsteps,” he concluded.

AskZiggy of Sacramento, Calif., is a revolutionary new voice recognition technology and Personal Voice Assistant (“PVA”) for Windows-based cell phones, soon to include the Android phone platform by the summer of 2012. It is a pioneer in the field of voice queries for mobile devices and has logged over 2 million voice searches since its inception in under 12 weeks.
