Silicon Image Expands Sales and Customer Support in the Asia-Pacific Region

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Silicon Image, Inc. (NASDAQ:SIMG), a leader in semiconductors and intellectual property for the secure distribution, presentation and storage of high-definition (HD) content, today announced that it has expanded the role of John Lin, senior sales director of Taiwan, China and Southeast Asia, to include the title of China country and general manager. Expanded responsibilities include oversight of the Silicon Image sales offices in Taipei, Taiwan; Shenzhen, China, and the Shanghai, China research and development facility.

Mr. Lin will be responsible for all Asia-Pacific sales, marketing, customer and partner programs in the region, with a focus on managing existing customer relationships and identifying and pursuing new business opportunities consistent with Silicon Image’s regional growth strategy plan. Mr. Lin will continue reporting directly to Sal Cobar, vice president of worldwide sales at Silicon Image, Inc.

Mr. Lin has been with Silicon Image since November 2006. He has a proven track record for implementing successful business strategies in the Asia-Pacific region, combined with over 25 years of experience in computer engineering and semiconductor sales.

Prior to joining Silicon Image John Lin held the position of sales director at Analogix Semiconductor, where he managed an extensive portfolio of analog and mixed-signal devices for digital media and communication interconnect applications. Other previous appointments include country sales director of SigmaTel Taiwan, Asia vice president for Transmeta Corp., and vice president of sales with EDOM Technology, Inc.
