Mellanox and Beijing Computing Center Unveil Beijing Public Cloud Computing Center

Public Cloud Based on InfiniBand to Provide Critical On-Demand Compute Resources for China's Academic and Commercial Researchers

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Cloud Expo West -- Mellanox® Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX) (TASE: MLNX), a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end connectivity solutions for data center servers and storage systems, and the Beijing Computing Center, announced today a joint cooperative agreement to build the Beijing Public Cloud Computing Center; a joint cloud computing laboratory that will further enhance China's cloud computing technology efforts. The 40Gb/s InfiniBand-accelerated Beijing Public Cloud Computing Center will provide China's academic and commercial researchers with easy access to a high-performance computing cloud for their multiple scientific applications.

Utilizing the Beijing Public Cloud Computing Center, Mellanox and the Beijing Computing Center will collaborate on various research areas that are of mutual interest and that strengthen both parties' research efforts within cloud computing. Main research areas of interest include Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (Paas), and other usage models of cloud computing for high-performance applications, as well as network security solutions, scalability and efficiency for cloud computing delivery.
