BANGKOK -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --

The South East Asia's largest gift and houseware trade fair, "Thailand International Gift Fair 2010 and Thailand International Houseware Fair 2010 (BIG+BIH), prepares to open to foreign buyers on 20-23 April 2010 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC).

Despite the recent political situation, (which has quieted down and restricted to a small area in the city centre), Thai people go about their lives and business as usual everywhere except within the protest zones downtown.

"Over the years, Thais and foreign business people alike, have unfortunately become somewhat used to Thailand's passionate and liberal political scene and have bi-passed any localized upheaval. If you don't go to the protest zones, you actually don't even realize all this is going on," said Mr. Jirabool Vittayasing, Secretary-General of The Lifestyle Products Federation of Thailand. "We look forward to welcoming buyers with the usual trademark hospitality and graciousness that Thailand is still so famous for."

The Lifestyle Products Federation of Thailand wants to remind overseas buyers that The Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair April 2010, under the concept of "Soul and Style of the Oriental", is still scheduled to open on 20 April with over 600 exporting companies and 1,600 exhibition booths representing the Mekong River countries and ASEAN exhibitors in attendance at BITEC, the new venue for the event with a 15 minute drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

"As in previous years, buyers will be amazed with the outstanding lifestyle products and designs which are not just Thai or national styles but 'Oriental Chic, Modern design', and with materials and process according to international standards of safety and quality," said Mr. Supat Sriwannavit, President of The Lifestyle Products Federation of Thailand.

In addition to the exceptional products and designs, buyers will enjoy numerous privileges such as "A One Day Trip" program, special airfares and hotel accommodations rates, VIP access through immigration, luxury buyers lounge with free wireless internet, shower and changing rooms at BITEC, interpreters and escorts from the airport to the venue site.
