SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Velodyne Lidar, Inc. was named a 2019 Automotive News PACE Award winner at an awards ceremony on April 8 in Detroit. Velodyne was the only lidar provider to win this prestigious award, which distinguishes automotive suppliers for superior innovation, technological advancement, and business performance.

Velodyne was recognized for the Velodyne Alpha Puck™, a lidar sensor specifically made for autonomous driving and advanced vehicle safety at highway speeds. Perfect for Level 4-5 autonomy, the sensor produces an image best described as “stunning,” with the highest resolution data set in the world. It boasts the longest range for highway driving and maximum safety.

The 25th annual PACE Awards were presented by Automotive News and the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA) for game-changing product and process innovations. The competition, which included an extensive review by an independent panel of industry expert judges, was open to suppliers which contribute products, processes, materials, or services directly to the manufacture of cars or trucks. The Automotive News PACE Award is accepted globally as the industry benchmark for innovation.
